Is CBD a Fad or Here for the Long Haul?

The other day I drove past a familiar corner and saw our football team’s championship shirts on sale for the rock-bottom price of $5. We had just won the Superbowl and our city was in an uproar. Soon after, overpriced shirts were selling quickly, along with mugs, banners, towels… you name it, if it had our team’s logo on it, it was selling.

Other people wanting “a piece of the game” bought products to sell, but they may have come in too late or overestimated the demand… until, you have the situation I saw the other day.

Waiting too long may be great for the consumer, but not necessarily for the seller.

So, is it too late to enter the CBD game? Is CBD a fad that will soon fade-out like fidget spinners, Rubik’s cubes and kale?

It can be difficult to tell, because the CBD craze has all the earmarks of a fad. I listened to a podcast the other day where they talked about CBD-infused pillows and CBD ice cream. If CBD is good as an extract, why can’t we put it into… EVERYTHING? If you infuse it, people will come and they will buy it! It all seems so suspiciously like a fad.

Understandably, many sound investors and companies don’t want to buy into fads. They want a sure thing that’ll bring a profit for years to come.

Will all the CBD billboards and CBD shop signs turn into something else in a few years’ time? I don’t think so and here’s why.

CBD AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE HIGH COST OF MEDICINE

I don’t know if you feel it, but there’s a grumbling, rumbling protest against the pharmaceutical industry. Whenever I hear people talk about prescription meds, they mention things like, price gouging, the greed and power of the pharmaceutical companies, the long list of side effects that can be worse than the original problem and how doctors only want to treat the symptoms, but not really provide a cure.

CBD, on the other hand, has been proven to be a safe alternative to treat ailments, such as pain, inflammation, high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, plus much more, with little to no side effects. Just know, for the vast majority of people, CBD has no discernible side effects, but for certain people, it may cause diarrhea, changes in appetite and weight and fatigue. It may also not mix well with certain medications.

Moreover, Lazarus Naturals CBD is all-natural and works well with your body’s endocannabinoid system to bring homeostasis, or proper balance to your body, which is a great promoter of overall health. For all these reasons, pharmaceutical companies now have a competition where they once secured a monopoly.

Overpriced pharmaceuticals can cost more than just money. There may be a further cost in compromised health through the drug’s side effects, the need to take more drugs to offset those new symptoms and the potential long-term health damage by using synthetic drugs created in a lab.

CBD AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO ADDICTIVE OPIOID PRESCRIPTIONS

If you didn’t know already, America has an opioid epidemic. Back in the late 1990s, pharmaceutical companies declared opioid medication to be non-addictive. As more health workers prescribed opioids to patients after having been given the “green light,” growing widespread use began to occur. Upon further investigation, they discovered that opioid medication was indeed highly addictive.

Dismal statistics prove this out in so many ways. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the fallout has been great, ranging from misuse of opioid prescriptions into the millions all the way to opioid-related drug overdoses.

Here are 2018 statistics that illustrate the seriousness we face as a nation:

  • 10.3 million people misused their opioid prescriptions.
  • An estimated 130+ people died daily from opioid-related drug overdoses.
  • Opioid addiction claimed the lives of 47,600 people.

CBD, on the other hand, can treat pain effectively and it is NON-ADDICTIVE! CBD can also help lessen people’s addiction to other substances. The need for effective pain treatments will never grow old. But, now that the world has seen the massive damage caused by addiction to opioid prescriptions, a greater segment of society will more likely look into effective alternative treatments such as CBD.

CBD IS ONLY ONE OF MORE THAN A HUNDRED POTENTIALLY HEALING CANNABINOIDS

As research and testing continue, it’s likely scientists will discover more healing properties of the other cannabinoids that have yet to make their debut. CBD is only the beginning of a potentially new market for alternative treatments derived from the cannabis plant.

Many have already heard of the power of the “entourage effect” in full spectrum CBD products, which is not quite the same as the celebrity culture in Hollywood. In other words, we’re stronger and work better together. CBD becomes that much more effective, working in conjunction with other naturally occurring compounds in the cannabis plant, such as terpenes, flavonoids and other cannabinoids. Why is that? Because all of these other compounds, especially the other cannabinoids, have their own healing properties and special relationship with your body’s endocannabinoid system.

For example, CBG will most likely be the next cannabinoid in line for mass production. Some of its healing properties are like CBD, in that it treats and lessens inflammation, pain and nausea. But, it can also slow down the proliferation of cancer cells and help treat inflammatory bowel disease and Crohn’s disease. For all those benefits, many are anticipating huge market projections for CBG!

What other cannabinoids will reach the market in future years? And what will their healing properties be? More importantly, for all you business owners, what will be the demand for these products as awareness increases worldwide?

RESPONSIBLE, ETHICAL COMPANIES WILL OUTLAST THOSE TRYING TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK

If you need another reason to hope in the future of the CBD industry, here’s one: it has yet to fully be regulated. In other words, the industry has yet to determine their universal “best practices” in product standards, language and testing. When the CBD industry becomes standardized, you’ll begin to see a great divide in the market. Those companies that don’t have high quality, tested products will fall to the wayside, due to a growing informed consumer demand for better products and higher accountability.

Companies that lean too much upon great-sounding slogans, flashy marketing, mislabeling, but have shoddy products will have fewer and fewer places to hide. On the other hand, companies that have the integrity to do it right, with high quality products, processes and transparent testing and labeling will rise like the best cream to the top of the market. Why wait to get on board with those companies? Do extra research now to get your products and high quality product line from the best companies on the market!

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO ENTER THE CBD MARKET

Nationally, analysts project more growth in the CBD industry. If you think about it, the Farm Bill that made selling CBD products legal in all states just passed in 2018. Internationally, more countries and regions have yet to catch up to the North American embrace of CBD to fully open their markets. As more testing and testimonials come in, CBD products will find wider acceptance worldwide! What am I saying? There’s still room to grow, to find a place in this market and to share in its profitability.

Due to the risks of the current “Wild West” nature of the CBD industry, it’s important to do your research well and to connect with white label CBD companies such as Maxvera Wellness, who already committed to best practices and the highest quality products. They will ride out this CBD wave, outlasting every other competitor to continue to produce the highest quality CBD products for your business and product line goals.

The Superbowl has ended and most people in my city have already bought the shirt and the banner. The Rubik’s cube is not the hot item it used to be, though you may find it somewhere on Ebay. You see, momentary rushes and fads flash brightly and then fade. In contrast, CBD has a long season ahead and more growth on the way!

Instead of slashing prices to find rock bottom, knowing the robust nature of the CBD market and its bright future will give you confidence to hang out the shingle with the words emblazoned upon it, CBD for Sale!
